Khaiyum's Dirty Land Grab Violates Native Fijian Rights

Dictator Banimarama & Fijian Land Grabber Khaiyum
Watch and listen to Ratu Tevita Mara expose Dictator Bainimarama and Khaiyum's dirty and grubby approach in stealing land from native Fijians.

The video refers to the long running court case of the Suvavou villagers, as original inhabitants of where Fiji's capital Suva is now situated, in seeking compensation for the loss of their traditional land and fishing grounds.

They now live out in Suvavou village in Lami after being moved from their original village site at Thurston Gardens.

Learn how the Khaiyum directed courts in Fiji churn out a ruling that purports to alienate Fijians of their traditional lands and fishery for good via a contrived and distorted interpretation of the 1874 Deed of Cession to Great Britain. As stated by Ratu Tevita, the Deed of Cession makes clear that Fijians can never be alienated from their traditional lands owned and settled by their ancestors well before the arrival of Europeans and indeed Khaiyum's ancestors as well. And at Cession, when guardianship of Fijian lands were ceded to Great Britain, or eventually acquired by the State for its use, compensation was to be provided. That was all that the people of Suva were after in their long running court case.
