CAKAUDROVE paramount chief, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu has
called on the people of his province to uphold the education of
children and support their women.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony of the Soqosoqo
vakamarama of Cakaudrove resource centre in Savusavu this week, Ratu
Naiqama told his people to unite for the sake of the province.
"Strive for your children's education as the province of Cakaudrove has been known for many good things." "Lalagavesi
exists because of the people of Cakaudrove, let us learn to have a love
for the province and to preserve the province during this trying times
when change is upon us, let us work for the development of the
province," he said.
"Esa sega ni ani veitalanoata'i ji'o e sa na
gadreva a oda ca'aca'a vata ei na oda cuqena ai tavi ni odra qaravi o
ira a luveda ei ira marama ni odatou yasana. ("It's not an issue for
discussion only; it needs action, we need to work together to support
our children and the women)."
"Ai tavi va'avanua ena sega ni rawa
ni dua e levea qai rawa ga 'e sa dua e mate se sa bo'oci a yacana mai
nai vola ni 'awa bula, eva'a o via 'ai Ca'audrove qo ai tavi ni yasana o
Ca'audrove. ("Our obligations to the province of Cakaudrove will never
end for this is the province of Cakaudrove and its needs, the need of
its people)."
