THE Ba Provincial Office will target the grassroots level in a bid to promote the wellbeing of its people.
Roko tui Ba Ratu Sireli Vananalagi Vesikula said they had set a three-year strategic plan to work on.
He said priority was the promotion of good governance on the part of traditional leaders and tikina representatives.
Ratu Sireli said the council would educate leaders on the importance of every decision they make regarding the wellbeing of their people.
He said the provincial office in consultation with the Training and Productivity Authority of Fiji would hold trainings for the tikina representatives next month on the objective of their roles.
"We have just selected a new set of tikina reps and they will be there for a period of three years," said Ratu Sireli.
"These reps will have a lot of training mainly to update them on their responsibilities."
He said the representatives would deal with grassroots people and whatever was learnt from the workshop would be relayed to their people.
Ratu Sireli said they wanted the village structure to be in order.
He said the provincial office would assist the villagers in their fight against poverty.
He also encouraged villagers to engage in income-generating businesses to help with their daily survival.
"Our aim is for all households to have income generating business," he said.
